Sasha Allen is the only transgender openly performing artist to have made it through the Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. That has been the case for 21 seasons. They are the Newtown, Conn. duo have made it into the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha admitted that he is transgender in their presentation for Blind Auditions. Blind Auditions, and he said to Parade.com that the decision took thought and consideration. Sasha admitted that it was difficult to make a decision because he was required to expose a vulnerable aspect of himself in thousands and millions of people. He made the transition while at the age of high school. This past week, during fan week, seeing the support from people and their reactions and the way it affected them that it was well-worth the risk. We performed the song prior to The Voice even existed. After we got it, we were delighted. We knew the song, and already knew, and we had many plans to put it together. I was really surprised that the crowd struck the nail on their head."
