Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician by singing and playing at the church in town. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the Atlanta's R&B scene. The very first track to showcase her voice was called Stalk You, a Japanese house 12 track. Since then, it has been re-mixed and is now component of her set. She also contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She became the primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the director of the choral group for the stage production. Sunshine became the focus of notice during the four performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
